The Museum is placed in a rural block of 9&"9&&!&"!!&!!&&%!!"!"&"&!"*!$#-&!"C&!&:""&!!!&"&"!"&!!&&!%"&V2 UO2&buildings of the XIX century, where, in the Greek &&&&%&&!77!!&&$5'!!&&!5!"%O2 Ua-&Age, was the sanctuary of Athena. Paolo Orsi 6%!5"&!"&!&!$'5&!&!+!&&6-X2 O3&found the temple the last century and actually the c&&&&&!!9&!&!!!!&&$!&&!!&!$&!@Times New Roman-2 ]&naos n&%&-2  &and the !%&&!-2  &adyton %&!&%-52  &are visible. The first hall !!%&!-&!&!2 O]&contains the underwater collections. The most ancient objects are from wreckage located near !&&!&&!%&&!5!!!&!!&&-&!9&!&!!&&&!! !'9 5!"%"%!&!!!&&!!(2 WO&Punta Braccetto and*&&!2!!!!&!&&2 WM& date black to the VI century B.C. In this hall are also exposed the weights &!!&!!%&&!7!!&&$22&&&!!!!&!%&&!&&!5!%& 2 W &z& 2 W & z2 O]&sample founded in the sea under the acropolis of the ancient Camarina, a bronze statuette of "9&!!&&&& & & &! !! &&&  &! !!&&&& &! !&!!& 2"9!&! ! &&&!! !&!! &%2 O&Arpocrathes (III n5&&!!&! 2 _&z&n2 B& II century B.C.) and bronze statuette of Aphrodite (I century A.C!!&&$22!&&&%&!!!&!!& 5&&&&!!!&&$ 522  &.). In the && 2 ZO[&Byzantine harbour of Caucana was founded a female head in white marble, dated black to the 3$!!&&!&!&&&&2!&!!&!5"&&&&!&!":!"&!!&&5&!:!&!&!!&&!!%&&"2 Oa&roman imperial age, and a silver plate with an inscription of the Byzantine age. To the medieval &9!&9&!!"%!!&&!%!&!!5&!&&!&&%&&!1%!!&&!!%!-&&!9!&!&!a2 O9&age date black some object from a wreckage of a galley. T !%!&!!&!!%&:!&&!!&:!5!"%"%!&!%!"%-C2 o %&he following hall contains the Greek i&!&&5&%&!!&%!&&!5!!&2 ]Oc&trade amphoras. At the first floor are the amphoras founded in the necropolis of the Rifriscolaro, !&!"9&&&!5&!&&!!&!"9&&&!&&&&!&&&!&!!&&%&&!2!&!&2 O_&dated back to the VI century B.C., at the second floor are the amphoras from the necropolis of &!!&&!!%%&!7!!&&$22!&!!!&%&&&!!&! 9&&&!'9&!&!!&%&&-12 O&Passo Marinaro. These ampl+!&C!&!&-&!!"9&V2 2&horas, after the trade use, were changed in tomb (&&!"!&!!&!&!6!!!&!&%!&&&9&-2 _ &enchytrismos!&!&!6&-2 &). 2 * &In the &&!2 ` O^&following halls are exposed the prehistoric evidences and the pottery from the archaic age of &&5&% &! !! !%&&!& &!&!&&! !%&!&!! !&% &!&%!$!'9 &! !!&!! !%! &2 O &Camarina. In the west &&!5!2 b OQ&hall are exposed the evidences of the Classical, Hellenistic and Roman age. We can mention, besides, the presence of little clay models of &!!F!!!&9!&&&&!&!&!%!!&!!&!!!$9&&!&2 @O]&hut and temple, which are comparable with those of Minoan and Cyprian area. These recoveries && &&!9&!5&!&!!!&9&"!&!5&&&!&C&&!%!&%3$&!&!!!-&!!!!&&!!^2 O7&are, probably, the consequence of direct relations with!!'&&& &$'&!'!&&!%&!&!!'&'&!!'!!%&'5&@2 6 #& Mycenaean area, determined by the k'C$!"&!!!&'!!!'&!!9&!&'&$'&!2 Oa&opportunity of finding natural resources and continuing toward west, probably to look for metals.e&&%&&&$&&&&%&!&!!&&!!!&& &&&%&%&5!&6"&%&!&$&&&%&9!! 2  & z#2 COc&In regard to eastern Sicily, there arent as numerous evidences of contacts with the Aegean region &!%!&&!!!&*!$&!!"!&!&&9!&&!%&!&!!'"&&!!5&&!5"%!!&"%&%/2 O&as those examined in Agr!&&!!%"9&!&&6%s2 zE&igentos land. For this reason, we suppose that those few objects in o%!&&!&&)&&!!&%5!&&&&!&!&&!"5&&!!&j2 O?&eastern Sicily arent the result of direct contacts with Aegean!!!&*!$!!&&!!&%&!!!&&!!5&5"%!!& 2  &-z82  &Mycenaean World, but could be D%!!&!!!&F&&%&!%&&& \2 EO6&objects acquired trough mediation of Aeolian Islands. &&!!!!&%!&&&%%9!&!&&&5!&!&!%&F2 E'&At last, we can assert that the exiguit5!5!!!&!!&!&!!%%&2 E\ &y of a$&2 O&Aegean5"%"!& 2 4&-z2 M\&Mycenaean presence in the eastern area of the island is the evidence of the indifference of C%!!&!!!&&!!&!!&&!!!!&!!!&&!!&&& !%&!&!!&&!&&!!&"!&2 Ob&Aegean merchants for these places, lacking in particular natural resources.
